Robi Start e Traffic Services With DMP

 Mobile telecom operator Robi Axiata Limited
signed an agreement today, 26 January 2012 with Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) as an exclusive network operator for their e-Traffic
project, aimed at providing mobile phone service as a tool for traffic
management.

Police (DMP) inked the agreement on behalf of their respective
organizations at a city hotel today.
 
Under this agreement Robi will provide mobile
related services to Dhaka Metropolitan Police to automate their internal
value chain and offer different traffic related services. This will
eventually help DMP to improve traffic infrastructure, efficient use of
resources to regulate traffic of Dhaka city and enhance DMP’s
accessibility to the general people of the city and the country as a
whole.

The mass people will now get the opportunity to get
up-to-date information of the vehicles, Reduce harassment while buying
the vehicle & check the proof of ownership, reduce illegal sale of
vehicles, reduce vehicle theft, ask for Police assistance as and when
required and convenience through e-payment system and mobile banking.
 
Speaking on the occasion Chief Human Resources
Officer of Robi, Matiul Islam Nowshad, said, “Robi is happy to provide
this service which will help serve the mass people. Now people will have
easier access to different traffic related services.”
 
At the signing event from Dhaka Metropolitan Police
(DMP) Benazir Ahmed, BPM (bar), Police Commissioner and from Robi
Executive Vice President, CRL Mahmudur Rahman, VP, Market Operation
Sadat Adnan Ahmad were present along with top officials of DMP.

Here comes Robi with another innovation to enrich its users’ mobile experience! 
Robi has introduced e-Traffic services in association with Dhaka Metropolitan Police for the first time in Bangladesh.

  Robi e-Traffic services are available EXCLUSIVELY to Robi subscribers. 
Robi users are now able to avail below services via SMS:

  • Validation of Vehicle Registration number
  • Validation of Engine number
  • Validation of Chassis number
  • Validation of Fitness Certificate
  • Validation of Tax Token
  • Validation of ownership details
  • Information regarding Traffic case filed against a vehicle
  • Validation of Driving License

How can you avail the services? 
e-Traffic services are accessible only from yourRobi connection. To avail these services,

  • dial *28787#and follow the instructions or
  • Send SMS to 28787 in the formatmentioned in the table givenbelow

How much will it cost?
Only the regular SMS push-pull service charge (BDT 2+VAT per SMS) will be applicable

  • Digital Driving License (newly issued) information is not available at the moment
  • DMP is solely responsible for the Information related Traffic case filed against a vehicle
  • In case a vehicle information is not accessible via e-Traffic services, the user enquiring about the vehicle information will have to contact with the respective authority (DMP/BRTA as applicable)
